The dearth I think is one of hearing, though sometimes what is heard becomes the story that is told, which must be reinterpreted.
These aren’t things that algorithms easily discern. Brave enough English majors might try.
In any case, I think that’s what the author’s story is about, misunderstood perhaps by the summarizer.
