Most currently there is the case of vaping products, which had fallen through the cracks of supervision.

Maybe the reason isn’t different from financial mixups about sector boundaries and norms, as was recently discussed.

When seen to be consumer tech, standards, on the surface, don’t apply in the same way as, say, a cigarette, or a currency. And perhaps it takes a while for governing authorities to catch on… as it also does financial markets. And sometimes even operators.

One wonders if new products on the ground or the horizon are in line, and what the valuation risks might be, and when…
