There is never a preamble. This isn’t Bruce, this isn’t even rock’n’roll. Maybe indirectly, by association and the crowd. But it’s also jazz, and cowboy music. Sometimes.
The tune-up between songs goes on forever. It is an act of kindness and of gratitude to those who came. It takes so much, so long to make the notes just exactly perfect.
